Whenever two persons meet, the first say:
Assalamu’alaikum
it is short from of Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
In Urdu or Arabic, We can write this sentence in this way:
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

اَلسَّلامُ عَلَیکُم
تجھ پر یا تم پر ہمارا سلام ہو (ملاقات یا رخصت کے وقت یا خط و کتابت میں سلام کا اسلامی طریقہ) .
کسی بزرگ کی روح یا اس کی یاد گار وغیرہ کو مخاطب کر کے اظہار عقیدت یا تعظیم و تکریم کا کلمہ .
Meaning of Wa Alaikum Assalam and the way of writing in Urdu Arabic and English
In the reply to the greeting, other person response wa-ʿalaykumu s-salāmu وَعَلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَامُ.
وَعَلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَامُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
وَعَلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَامُ- السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ
as-salāmu ʿalaykum — wa-ʿalaykumu s-salāmu
